The New Gönkhang at Lerab Ling

The New Gönkhang at Lerab Ling

Every major monastery in Tibet had a special shrine room dedicated to the Dharmapalas (Protectors of the Dharma), where offerings and practices were held each day. In view of the growing importance of Lerab Ling as a centre for the authentic transmission of the Buddhist teachings in the West, Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche and other masters have advised us to create a new, larger shrine room dedicated to Dharma Protector practice. This practice is vital for the flourishing of the Lerab Ling community and all its activities. The practices held there will also be dedicated to the Rigpa sangha worldwide, including their friends and relatives who may be ill, experiencing difficulties, or who have died.

Donors are urgently needed to sponsor the shrines, images, wall murals and other sacred contents of this special shrine room. We appeal to all those of you who recognize the significance of this shrine room to give as generously as you can. Thank you for your help!
